Natural History Museum Aarhus – Naturhistorisk Museum
Natural History Museum Aarhus offers views of the myriad of life that we share the world with. See the museum's five large permanent exhibitions and changing special exhibitions. One of the exhibitions gives a close-up of the African savannah. You can also explore our exhibition of Danish wildlife which could be described as a three-dimensional picture book, or go on a time travel through the Danish countryside from the Ice Age till today. You can't miss the museums latest exhibitions: The Global Backyard, showing the world's myriad of life and how we are all part of a large, global backyard and the AnimaliA exhibition – an ABC on survival with a different perspective on evolution.
Are you as clever as the animals?
You can test yourself in our museum garden where you can try if you can jump as far as a puma or compete with other animals. Activities at the museum are amplified during school holidays and you may even get to see a dissection. Keep an eye on our Facebook and our website calendar.
Natural History Museum Aarhus can also be found in the countryside
Don't forget to visit the Molslaboratoriet in Mols Bjerge. This is our research station but guests are welcome to go for walks on our marked footpaths. Make a stop at the Fireplace Room (Pejsestuen) next to the Blue Footpath (Blå Sti) and bring equipment so that you can learn much more about lizards, stones, butterflies and much more. Also watch our Facebook and our website calendar for our many guided nature tours.
